Tesco has announced that long-standing Chief Financial Officer Alan Stewart has decided to retire and that a search is on for a new CFO.
Stewart joined Tesco in 2014, playing a’ instrumental role’ in helping to turnaround the fortunes of the food retailer. Part of his achievements include leading the business back to investment grade status and rebuilding the balance sheet.
The retailer announced that a search is now on to find a successor to Stewart who will be officially stepping down on April 2021.
Commenting on his achievements, Dave Lewis noted:

Stewart added that he will continue to focus on delivering the strategy of the business over the next 11 months until his retirement.
